The Journey
Here at Jacob’s Well we believe that everyone is on a spiritual journey. And no matter where you are at on your journey, we want to walk along side you to help you take a next step towards God. The spiritual journey we are all on consists of five stages. The first stage we call thirst. Thirst is when a person is experiencing a dissatisfied longing in their hearts; a longing for something more. The second stage is called search. This stage propels the thirst stage into action; into seeking out answers for that longing. The third stage is the know stage. Knowing is when resolution is brought about through the thirsting and searching for answers. Then there is the fourth stage called experience. You see, it’s one thing to know about something, but experiencing what you know through your life brings joy and purpose to the previous three phases. The fifth stage is depth. We want everyone to not only know and experience Christianity, but to be deep in the things of God. We define depth as “thinking, feeling, and acting like Jesus.” Finally, as you take these steps towards growth, we believe that Jesus did not intend for any of us to do this life alone, but rather to do it in the context of authentic community. Imagine for a moment, a safe place to come and share not only your victories but also your struggles with others! This is what we mean by authentic community and we would love for you to be a part of it!
