Jacob’s Well began as a humble vision placed within the heart of Paul
Berthiaume. A small group of five families began to meet in his living room.
After six months of working together to develop the vision and values of
this new church and recruiting from another Chippewa Valley-minded church
Valleybrook, our core group grew to 42 adults. We launched at Delong Middle
School in March of 2001 with over 200 people in attendance. Because of our
consistent growth, we moved several times and held services at three
different schools in the Eau Claire area.
In 2005, we partnered with Builders for Christ, an incredible organization that assists young, vibrant churches with design, planning and construction of their facilities. This group donated their planning and labor while we took care of the land and materials. After much work in strategizing, planning, and construction, we joyfully moved into our building in October 2006.
Following five years of setting up and tearing down in various schools, we rejoice in new freedoms our facility affords us. We will not forget the commitment and time spent together during those years, as we worked side by side just to make church happen. It taught us to love. It made us strong. It united our hearts. It made us Jacob's Well.
